Young Charity Sport stars.
By Community Correspondent Rebecca Oldham Students from Manorcroft primary school in Egham, Surrey put on their trainers to raise money for the British heart foundation. Strode’s college higher sports leader organised the ultimate dodge ball competition for the year 5 pupils at the end of November. The sports leaders were overwhelmed by the response displayed by the young sports men and women of Manorcroft primary school who showed great sportsmanship and a strong interest in a sport which they wouldn’t necessarily get an opportunity to play.
The event managed to raise a much needed £34 for the British heart foundation charity, which Manorcroft had selected as their chosen charity. Sports leader teacher Philip Ash explains the link between Strode’s college and Manorcroft in regards to sport. “There are many links between Strode’s College and Manorcroft School mainly through the Bishop Wand Schools partnership where our sports leaders do sports activities with Manorcroft pupils and our BTEC students do coaching practice as part of their course.”
A similar event was run at Strode’s College, Egham during the last week of term, more news to follow.
