Woodmansterne ran out 116-run winners in Saturday’s Fullers League Division Two clash with Ewhurst.

Opening batsman Arron Wells hit 105 as Woods reached 217-8 declared despite losing the toss. Neepash Thacker contributed 25 and Robbie Joyce 24.

Spin twins Sham Ahmed (7-43) and Tom Wortley (3-47) then ensured no other bowlers were needed as Ewhurst were all out for 101.

Woods seconds stayed ahead of the promotion chasing pack with a 37-run win at Staines & Laleham.

Woods struggled with the bat although Phil Wells made 29 and Jan Lever 25 in their 144 all out.

But Squires took five wickets with the ball as Staines were all out for 104.
